Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 5, 2026

Lotus Pest Control, LLC is committed to ensuring that our website, customer portal, and digital services are accessible to everyone - including people with disabilities. We believe that all customers deserve equal access to our services regardless of ability.

1. Our Commitment

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities including:

  • Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
  • Hearing impairments (deafness, hard of hearing)
  • Motor or physical disabilities (limited fine motor control, use of alternative input devices)
  • Cognitive or neurological disabilities (attention deficit, dyslexia, epilepsy)

2. What We've Done

Our website has been developed and tested with accessibility in mind. Measures we have taken include:

  • Semantic HTML: Proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA roles so screen readers can navigate our pages
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements - menus, forms, buttons, and links - are fully operable using only a keyboard
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus states are maintained for all interactive elements
  • Color contrast: Text and UI components meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images use null alt attributes
  • Form labels: All form inputs are associated with descriptive labels; error messages are programmatically tied to their fields
  • Responsive design: Content reflows at up to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling or loss of functionality
  • No seizure triggers: We do not use flashing content that exceeds three flashes per second
  • Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is available for keyboard and screen reader users
  • Link text: Links use descriptive text - not "click here" or "read more"
  • Language declaration: The page language is declared in the HTML to support assistive technologies

3. Screen Reader Compatibility

Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • NVDA with Chrome (Windows)
  • JAWS with Chrome and Edge (Windows)
  • VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS)
  • TalkBack with Chrome (Android)

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas may not yet be fully compliant. Known limitations or areas under active improvement include:

  • Third-party embedded content (e.g., scheduling widgets, payment portals via PestPortals) - these are operated by third parties and may have their own accessibility standards
  • Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible - contact us and we will provide an accessible alternative
  • Embedded maps may have limited keyboard access - we provide text-based address information as an alternative

We are actively working to remediate these limitations and conduct regular accessibility audits.

5. ADA Compliance - In-Person Services

In addition to digital accessibility, Lotus Pest Control is committed to serving customers with disabilities in person:

  • We can accommodate customers with hearing impairments via written communication, email, or relay services
  • We can send written summaries of verbal service explanations upon request
  • Service agreements can be provided in larger print upon request
  • Technicians are trained to communicate clearly and patiently with all customers
