Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Lotus Pest Control services, treatments, and guarantees.
Service & Coverage
Why do I see MORE bugs after the first service?
Increased activity for 7-10 days after a service is normal. The products are working. Pests come out of harborage areas and contact the treatment as it moves through the population. If you are still seeing covered pests past 10 days, call or text us and we will return to re-treat at no charge.
What pests are not included in the standard plan?
The standard pest plan covers general household pests (ants, roaches, spiders, etc.). Mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, termites, bed bugs, rats, and German roaches require separate programs with their own terms and pricing. German roach service, for example, is an intensive treatment with 15-day and 30-day follow-ups and a 30-day guarantee - not a line item in the standard subscription.
How often do you treat my home?
Treatment frequency depends on your plan. Quarterly plans visit every 3 months (1 initial + 3 quarterly services per year). Bimonthly plans visit every 2 months (1 initial + 5 bimonthly services per year). Mosquito services run on a separate schedule during the season.
Are your products safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We use EPA-registered products applied per label directions by state-licensed technicians. We recommend keeping children and pets away from treated areas until surfaces are dry (typically 30-60 minutes), then your home is ready to enjoy.
Wildlife & Specialty
Do you remove snakes?
No. Our snake program is a reduction service, not a removal service. We apply a perimeter treatment (Snake-A-Way) and flush-out treatment designed to reduce snake activity around the home. Garter and rattlesnake pressure is the focus. We do not trap, relocate, or remove individual snakes.
Do you handle wildlife?
No. We do not handle birds, bats, squirrels, possums, raccoons, or other wildlife. Our pest plans cover insects, rodents (rats and mice, where included), and our reduction programs for moles and snakes. Wildlife exclusion and removal is a different category of work and is not part of our service.
Scheduling & Pricing
What is the 2-hour service window?
When we schedule your service, we give you a 2-hour arrival window. Your technician texts when they are on the way so you know exactly when to expect them. You do not need to be home for exterior-only treatments; for interior service, an adult should be present.
Is there a discount for paying up front?
Yes. We offer a 10% pay-in-full discount when you pay the contract value up front instead of month-to-month. The discount applies to the plan's contract value (the bundled annual price), not the monthly rate alone. Ask your account manager for the current pricing.
How do I get started?
Schedule a free inspection online or give us a call. We will assess your home, identify pest activity, and recommend the best plan. No credit card required to schedule.
