Wolf Spiders
Wolf spiders are large, hairy, fast-running ground spiders that hunt actively rather than building webs. They are among the most commonly encountered spiders in and around homes, particularly in basements, garages, and ground-level entry points. Females carry their egg sacs attached to their spinnerets and carry their young on their backs after hatching, which can be alarming when dozens of spiderlings scatter if the mother is disturbed. Wolf spiders have excellent vision with two large, forward-facing eyes and six smaller eyes arranged in rows.

Wolf spiders are nocturnal ground hunters that chase down prey rather than trapping it in webs.
